The best coffee shops in Chico, CA, according to local agent Kannon Christiansen, are The Grateful Bean Coffee House, Coffee Ranch, Bidwell Perk, Daycamp Coffee and Sweet Bean Coffee House. Chico has a strong independent coffee scene beyond those five, with local roasters downtown, in Meriam Park and in North Chico.
Kannon's top five
1. The Grateful Bean Coffee House, 6 W Eaton Rd. My hands-down favorite. The best coffee in town and a great atmosphere. Espresso drinks, blended mochas, pastries and sandwiches.
2. Coffee Ranch, 1288 E 1st Ave, Ste 120. A close second to Grateful Bean. Great coffee, and better for a quick stop than a long hangout. Specialty and seasonal drinks, breakfast food and quick bites.
3. Bidwell Perk, 664 E 1st Ave. The best atmosphere in Chico. Good coffee and plenty of good food options, plus trivia and events.
4. Daycamp Coffee, 1925 Market Pl, Ste 150, Meriam Park. Great coffee in a modern space, and a good place to meet friends. Local roaster with seasonal coffees and espresso drinks.
5. Sweet Bean Coffee House, 3010 Floral Ave, Ste 135. A little bit of everything: good coffee, a good vibe and good food options. Family-owned, with a drive-through and breakfast.
